last 48 hours, a few things

we got back on the red-eye monday morning from a sad but meaningful weekend with friends and family in LA. more on the memorial celebrating the life of terri's mom in another post...for now, just a few updates.

first the weather: it appears winter is upon us. 55 mph wind gusts last night; still with us this morning along with soggy snow flurries.

second: football. ben's varsity had their playoff game last night in the middle of the weather. they were winning (unexpectedly) 6-0 near end of the first half up in Chisago Lakes when the lights to the stadium and that whole side of town went out when a tree feel on a main line. things just weren't the same when the game resumed at a middle school field with natural grass a few hours later. the final score was something like 40-6 and the team didn't get back until 11:30, cold, wet and deflated.

third: hockey. emma's practicing everyday of course and terri had her first game ever monday night. they lost 10-0. terri had fun and came closest to scoring a goal for her team as anyone. best of all (for those of you who worried about it this weekend): no injuries. next game this saturday night.
