culture week

another big week for Ben--this time not sports but culture. last night, his 'almost spring' band concert over at Hill Murray High School. he played clarinet for the advanced band, and baritone sax for the jazz group. They were really great, and get rewarded with a bowling and pizza party this friday. (only downside: usually this would be a day off of school but this year mmsa is off already).

tonite and tomorrow, then, the 8th grade play "Fair Tale Court." We just got back from tonite's performance and it was really, really entertaining and enjoyable. the writing is great (very smart and funny) and the kids did a wonderful job in their roles. Ben was in charge of the sound and had a bunch of perfect choices of music introducing all of the scenes and characters. he and his sound crew also had an extremely hilarious turn as the dwarves in which they paraded around the stage with shoes on their knees muttering their lines together. a real crowd pleaser!  

basketball, band, and now the stage--we've got the makings of a renaissance man on our hands.
