so lots of fun and excitement with the winter sports season wrapping up. ben's school team (the one doug coaches) lost in the second round of the playoffs tonite but only by one point and a great comeback to make it so close. Ben actually had a huge steal with 14 seconds left that got the last shot but our guy was fouled and missed the one and one. All this, by the way, after a huge 2 point win on monday over a team that had beat them by 25 and 12 earlier in the year. it was a nice way to end the season. (One more season to go, though: ben's rec team plays in the state tourney in Roseville this weekend--they are seeded 9th among the 20-some 8th grade C teams in the state).
emma's hockey team lost on monday 4-3 to a top white bear team--it was esp. tough b/c they were two of the best teams in the tourney but got pitted against each other in the blind draw. anyway, they now play a second round consolation game tomorrow night over in stillwater against the other white bear team.
oh yeah and the promotion: the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) approved making Doug a full professor on monday.
