emma's big day

emma's big b-day today. seems like she had a good one. her class is spending the week at a educational day camp called "star base"--which she is really enjoying and they got to take a coach bus to get there. roy and mary had us over for steak and baked potatoes for her dinner, she took cupcakes to share with her hockey team at practice, and then we went back to roy and mary's for two cakes--flourless chocolate and chocolate frosted yellow cake. some cool presents too: new "brush" drum sticks from aunt lisa; some cash from nana and papa (as well as a rousing rendition of the birthday song on the answering machine); a t-shirt and mini spongebob mr. potato head from Pauline; a couple of books from mom and dad (Including the 6th grade girl classic "Are You There God? It's me, Margaret"); toe warmers; a new winter coat and a cool UCLA vest. Oh yeah, and Ben is promising to download a bunch of music onto her shuffle for her.
