white christmas!

it will not only be a white christmas in minnesota, it could be one of the whitest of all time. we woke up to 5-6 inches on the ground this morning (added to the 4-5 already there), and there are forecasts of anywhere from 6 to 18 more over the next 24-36 hours. (for conditions as of about 10:30, see pic). emma is in her glory--she already has a snow fort built, and after warming up with some hot chocolate, there is talk of all of us going out for some sledding. with shopping done and the prime rib already packed in for tomorrow's holiday dinner, the only question is when the roads will be clear for the trip to Missouri.

other catching up: ben's team played a 10th grade team at Woodbury last night (doug and emma didn't get to go; they had gophers tix). ben got 4-5 minutes a half which he spent battling (once again) guys significantly taller than him in the post. in fact, when he is in there, the coaches tell him his job is to push everyone out of the paint on defense and set big picks on offense. his football are clearly coming into play.
